UK CONSIDERS PAYMENTS FOR ISOLATION

The UK government is considering a £500 payment to anyone who tests positive for covid-19 in England, to encourage higher levels of testing and greater compliance with isolation.

Ministers are concerned current financial support arrangements aren't working - with many on low pay reluctant to get tested if they have symptoms as a result.

Cabinet minister George Eustice says several options are being looked at.
