Matt Hancock says UK is at 'worst point' of Covid-19 pandemic

UK Health secretary, Matt Hancock, has not ruled out tightening current lockdown restrictions.

He says the UK is now at the 'worst point of the pandemic'.

England is currently in its third national lockdown but hospitalizations are at their highest level since the outbreak began.

Matt Hancock says the government's goal to vaccinate 15 million of the most vulnerable people by mid-February is achievable.

However, the health secretary warned that people should not be complacent and should act 'as though they have the virus', to help protect the NHS and halt the spread of the virus.
