EU unveils plans for vaccine surplus distribution scheme with Africa

The WHO has warned some African nations may not receive vaccine supplies until 2022 2023, under the current plans of its COVAX facility designed to ensure fair distribution.

The European Union has said it wants to set up a mechanism to allow the sharing of surplus Covid-19 vaccines with Africa and poorer neighbours.
