Uganda is now less than a month away from presidential elections set to test the democratic process- widely seen to be coming under mounting threat.
The January 14th polls will see President Yoweri Museveni - who has ruled the country since 1986 run for re-election following a brutal crackdown on the opposition.
Now, President Museveni has reinstalled his son as chief of the country's elite military unit, amid a wider shake-up of its security forces.
