Germany reports record Covid-19 deaths as Merkel signals more restrictions

The coronavirus crisis in Germany continues to go from bad to worse, with the country recording it's highest number of deaths in one day. The unwelcome milestone comes despite five weeks of partial lockdown being in force, with Chancellor Angela Merkel now saying the measures might need to go further.
