OXFORD VACCINE 'UP TO 90% EFFECTIVE'

The Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine is up to 90% effective at preventing the virus, according to latest results.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says it's 'incredibly exciting news'.

The vaccine had 90% efficacy when people were given half a dose at first, followed by a full dose a month later.

Although it's not as effective as Pfizer and Moderna vaccines according to these results - it is easier to store and distribute.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock says regulators will now look into whether the vaccine can be approved for use with the dosing method that produces the best results.
