European Commission proposes Health Union to manage future crises

The European Union has begun its push for centralised health powers, after the coronavirus pandemic exposed vulnerabilities in the bloc's readiness for a public health crisis. 

The EU wants to establish a 'European Health Union' which would grant more power to Brussels.
