Ethiopia revokes amnesty of some leaders

Intro

The ongoing crisis in Ethiopia pitting the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, against separatists in the country's northern Tigray region, is deepening.

Last week, the government put the country into a state of emergency, after the prime minister launched a military operation to suppress an alleged armed rebellion there.

The Ethiopian parliament has now revoked the immunity of 29 people from Tigray.
