The UK is aiming to be the first nation on earth to carry out 'human challenge' studies -- that's where up to 90 young healthy individuals will be deliberately exposed to Covid-19 to help find a vaccine.
These trials, which could begin in January, are costing the UK government in excess of $40m. But, crucially, they're a faster way to test vaccines because scientists don't have to wait for people to be exposed to the illness naturally.
With the details, Benji Hyer reports from London.
