Germany is leading European talks with China, aimed at easing political tensions.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet Chinese president Xi Jinping for the discussions, due to be held virtually.
Talks will also focus on an EU-China investment agreement that was due to be signed off by the end of this year.
