New US sanctions on Chinese firms, individuals over South China Sea disputes

The United States has imposed new sanctions on 24 Chinese state-owned companies it says are involved in Beijing's territorial claims in the South China Sea. 


Washington has also set visa restrictions on Chinese executives associated with these controversial maritime claims.
