The President of the European Commission Ursula von Der Leyen has asked for two candidates to be put forward to replace Irish Commissioner Phil Hogan.
The EU's top trade official resigned on Wednesday, after accusations that he flouted Ireland's coronavirus rules when he attended a golf dinner.
