A new UN report says a series of attacks against civilians in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo may amount to crimes against humanity and war crimes.

The UN Joint Human Rights Office says rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces have killed more than 1000 civilians over the past 18 months.
