UK TESTING CAPACITY RAMPS UP

The UK is ramping up its coronavirus testing so that from today (Friday) millions of key workers can be tested if they have symptoms.

It's part of the Health Secretary Matt Hancock's attempts to hit 100 000 tests a day by the end of the month.

The British government has been criticised for its slow start compared to some other countries in terms of testing.

But it says testing will form a key part of being able to ease lockdown measures, when that is considered possible.

Rachel Venables reports.
