Uganda Arrests Officials Over COVID-19 Relief Fraud

Intro;

Uganda has arrested four top government officials following reports they inflated COVID-19 relief food prices.

 

The officials who work in the office of Prime Minister, have been running a program to provide food relief for vulnerable people amid the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Police say the suspects caused a financial loss to Government in excess of US. $500,000.
