Public Health England failed to quickly increase coronavirus testing, says UK's Chief Scientific Advisor

The British government's Chief Scientific Advisor has admitted that coronavirus testing in the UK should have been ramped up more quickly.

 

Sir Patrick Vallance said at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, testing was "at the right level," but it was then "not scaled as fast as it needed to be."
