US-Taliban deal hits problems over prisoner swap

The United States peace deal with the Taliban has run into problems
after the insurgent group said it would not participate in talks
unless 5,000 of its prisoners were released.

The Afghan President has ruled out a prisoner exchange - a key
component to negotiations to end the 18-year war in the country.
