UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is pledging to "drive a hard bargain" as he set out his country's negotiating position for a free trade deal with the United States.
The government claims a deal would boost the UK economy by more than $4bn USD. The USA is the UK's largest trading partner after the EU, accounting for nearly 20% of all exports and more than 10% of imports.
Meanwhile, talks are also beginning in Brussels between the UK and the European Union, aimed at reaching a post-Brexit trade agreement.
