Taliban continue attacks despite potential US deal

The Taliban says it will continue carrying out attacks even while a
potential deal is being negotiated with the United States to end the
almost 20 year war in Afghanistan.

Insurgents claim they killed 19 government soldiers on Sunday night,
despite an upcoming seven-day pause in fighting.
