UK PM PAUSES BREXIT BILL FOLLOWING COMMONS DEFEAT

UK MPs have dealt a fresh blow to Boris Johnson by rejecting his plan to fast-track his Brexit deal through parliament.

The House of Commons voted 322 to 308 against the timetable to implement the government's withdrawal agreement bill.

It now means the UK is unlikely to leave the EU by the current 31st October deadline and an early general election may be called before Christmas.
