Lawmakers in the Northern Ireland Assembly are sitting for the first time in nearly three years to protest a change in abortion laws and same-sex marriage.
Northern Ireland, which makes up one of the four countries of the UK, used to have its own assembly for certain domestic affairs, but has not been active since the main political parties fell-out over how it should be run.
