The UK's Brexit secretary, Stephen Barclay, will meet the EU's chief negotiator, Michel Barnier in Brussels later. [12GMT]
The two are hoping to find alternatives to the Irish backstop, a controversial insurance policy aimed at avoiding a hard border between Northern Ireland in the UK, and the Republic of Ireland following Brexit.
