Intro
Reforms undertaken by Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed have seen a push for self-autonomy among different tribes and ethnic communities, since he took office.
Now the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia has given the ethnic Sidama community- which has recently seen violence and clashes- the chance to hold a referendum in November, determining its future status.
