Queen Elizabeth II has approved an order to suspend the British Parliament between 9th September and 14th October.
This will end the current session of Parliament and open a new session with a Queen's Speech, which is where the government lays out its plans for the parliamentary term.
But critics of the Prime Minister's request to temporarily close the commons - known as prorogation - have said it s an attempt to reduce the time they have to debate Brexit.
