U.S. seeks military coalition to safeguard waters off Iran

The United States is seeking to build an international coalition to
patrol the waters off the coasts of Iran and Yemen.

The U.S. and its partners would aim to escort commercial vessels
through strategically significant shipping routes.

This comes after Washington blamed Iran for several attacks on oil
tankers in the Straits of Hormuz. A charge Tehran denies.
