New guidelines say people can reduce the risk of dementia by getting
regular exercise, not smoking, avoiding too much alcohol and eating a
healthy diet.
The World Health Organization collected data from 80 countries to
offer the new guidelines to healthcare providers, governments and
policy makers.
Dementia is on the rise with 50 million people worldwide currently
suffering from the condition - that figure is set to triple by 2050.
Dr Neerja Chowdhary from the World Health Organization says these
guidelines will help.
