Politicians in S. Korea unite behind Hanoi summit

The South Korean government has plenty at stake as leader Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump prepare to meet in Hanoi.


As reporter Bruce Harrison tells us, the government in Seoul is united behind the talks that may determine the future of the Korean Peninsula.

In recent days, rival parties have come together to support the dialogue between Kim and Trump.


Party leaders held hands for a friendly photo-op in Seoul and said they'll even take nonpartisan action in parliament if needed.


They hope the meeting in in Hanoi leads to a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.


It's a rare show of unity in a country with a bold line dividing the left and right on North Korea and domestic issues.


President Moon is all-in supporting Trump's approach with Kim. And most lawmakers here seem to be behind him… for now.
