MAY HEADS TO N. IRELAND AHEAD OF BRUSSELS TRIP

UK Prime Minister Theresa May's visiting Northern Ireland (on Tuesday) as she seeks a Brexit deal that can avoid a hard border with Ireland.

So far the EU has insisted it will not renegotiate the already-agreed Irish border backstop solution in the Withdrawal Agreement.

But Mrs May needs to win changes to it to gain the backing of enough of her own Conservative MPs.

She'll travel to Brussels for talks on Thursday.

UK correspondent Olly Barratt says the Prime Minister is looking for movement on several fronts.
