France's top legal body rejects demand to ban rubber bullets

France's top legal body, the Council of State, has ruled not to ban rubber bullets used by police for crowd control - after a case brought by a group of lawyers who say 230 demonstrators have been injured by them since the start of the Yellow Vests protests.

The court ruled some demonstrators have been sufficiently violent that the weapons are needed.
