U.S. Special Representative Stephen Biegun arrived in Pyongyang following a short flight from South Korea.

The State Department says Biegun's trip will advance promises Trump and Kim made during their first meeting last year.

So far, they've made little progress toward their goal of ridding the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons.

Trump announced during his state of the union address that he'll meet Kim in Vietnam on February 27 and 28.

But it's crucial Biegun comes away with a plan in Pyongyang so the leaders actually have something to discuss.
