British prime minister Theresa May is leaving the summit of EU leaders saying it will still be possible to get the necessary assurances she needs to get the Brexit deal passed.
She had hoped to get her EU counterparts to sign up to legally binding agreements on the contentious issue of the insurance policy to keep the Irish border open in all eventualities.
