EU leaders have wrapped up day one of an EU summit by stressing the divorce deal they negotiated with UK remains the only deal on the table.
But they've also stressing the the Irish backstop component is not a trap to keep the UK under EU rules, but is just an insurance policy to keep the Irish border open.
