Australia's Home Affairs minister Peter Dutton has declared that for asylum seekers on Manus island or Nauru their destination will be the US or nothing.
But the Labor party opposition leader Bill Shorten says the Australian government has ignored New Zealand's offer to take people and hasn't tried hard enough to find other countries.
