Opposition party in India calls nationwide demonetisation protests

The opposition Congress party in India has staged nationwide protests to denounce the government's demonetisation move which took place two years ago.

This saw the two highest value bank notes scrapped in an effort to reduce illegal money flows.

The opposition party's protests come ahead of a general election due next year in India.
