Bavaria prepares for pivotal elections

The German state of Bavaria votes in regional elections on Sunday,
with polls showing the conservative CSU party is likely to lose their
absolute majority.

The result could put more pressure on chancellor Angela Merkel's
government, which has lost support recently to both sides of the
political spectrum.
