Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the US was seeking to "stab it in the back" as the country's economic woes worsen.
Last week the Turkish Lira plummeted after the US imposed sanctions on two Turkish ministers over the case of an American pastor facing charges in Turkey.
