Canadian negotiators are due to return to talks with their American and Mexican counterparts in a bid to renegotiate the 25 year-old North American Free Trade Agreement.
US President Donald Trump, a frequent critic of the existing pact, announced on Monday that the US and Mexico had reached a new deal after five weeks of bilateral discussions.
The final outcome for NAFTA remains in doubt with Canada, the third signatory, due to rejoin talks on Tuesday.
