The Trump administration has decided to rely on existing laws to restrict Chinese investment in American technology companies - stepping down from the more aggressive approach it had been considering.
President Trump will use the powers of the Committee on Foreign Investment, or CFIUS, which reviews proposed acquisitions of U.S. assets by foreign investors.
