THERESA MAY: NUMBER OF WAYS OF SOLVING BREXIT CUSTOMS ISSUE

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is being urged by some of her own MPs to drop one of the options she's considering for customs arrangements with Brussels.

Mrs May is hosting a meeting of senior ministers on Wednesday to discuss customs arrangements with the EU as Britain leaves the bloc.

Downing Street is understood to favour a so-called 'customs partnership' which would see the UK mirroring EU customs rules at its borders and collecting tariffs on behalf of Brussels.

But senior Brexiteer MPs from within Theresa May's Conservative Party say this would be unacceptable - and it's thought some would be willing to bring the government down over the issue.

Theresa May says she hasn't settled on a solution yet.
