Iowa approves "heartbeat bill" abortion bill

Lawmakers in the U.S. State of Iowa have passed a bill that would make
it illegal for most abortions to be performed once a heartbeat can be
detected.

If the bill comes into law, women will be required to have an
ultrasound to check whether there's a foetal heartbeat.

Some exemptions including rape and incest have been introduced but the
bill is being dubbed as the most restrictive abortion ban in the
country.

U.S. correspondent William Denselow reports.
