The United Nations has called for an end to fighting in two conflict
zones in Syria which it says is creating a "catastrophic situation."
Major offensives by the Syrian government and its ally Russia in
Eastern Ghouta and by Turkey in Afrin has displaced more than a
hundred thousand people in recent weeks.
United Nations spokesperson Stephane Dujarric detailed the situation
facing civilians caught up in the fighting.
