UK FIRM UNDER PRESSURE OVER FACEBOOK DATA AND POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS

The UK's Information Commissioner is trying to secure a warrant to search Cambridge Analytica, which is accused of using personal data of Facebook users to influence the 2016 US election.

Channel 4 News has also filmed Cambridge Analytica executives suggesting using 'girls', bribes and the discrediting of politicians in political campaigns.

Cambridge denies any wrongdoing.

A whistleblower says the company amassed data from millions of Facebook users from a personality quiz on the site, and then used that data to help Donald Trump's 2016 campaign.

Tech journalist Will Guyatt says users' data is valuable.
