Russia's Ambassador to the UK has called the comments of British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson that compared Russia to Nazi Germany "unacceptable and irresponsible".
The remarks of Alexander Yakovenko came after Mr Johnson likened the public relations gains to Russian President Vladimir Putin from hosting the upcoming Football World Cup to Adolf Hitler's use of the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Mr Yakovenko said the UK had blamed Russia for the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury without any evidence, adding that is something his country cannot accept.
Speaking from the Russian Embassy in London, Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko said the comparison of Russia to Hitler's Nazi Regime could not go unchallenged.
