The Intergovernmental Authority For Development, or IGAD, has decided to lift the house arrest of former South Sudan opposition leader Riek Machar.
He has been confined in Pretoria, South Africa since 2016 on a joint decision of the IGAD - a trade bloc of eight east African countries, along with Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States.
