ARMY DEPLOYED AMID FREEZING CONDITIONS IN UK

The army's been deployed in the UK after hundreds of drivers became stuck in heavy snow.

Hundreds of passengers were also trapped overnight on a freezing train which broke down near Christchurch in southern England.

Britain is into the fourth day of major disruption caused by heavy snow and freezing conditions.

Thousands of schools remain shut, and trains and flights have been cancelled in their hundreds.

Mike Hughes is in Cardiff where a 'red warning' which means risk to life has been downgraded.
