The United States believes the Syrian government may be producing new chemical weapons, according to U.S. reports.
There are also concerns Syrian President Bashar al-Assad may have kept hold of some chemical stockpiles despite a 2013 deal brokered by Washington and Moscow to remove and destroy his supplies.
