The State Department in Washington is confirming that the US embassy in Israel will move to Jerusalem in May.
Last year US President Donald Trump triggered an angry reaction from Arab nations when he announced the relocation of the embassy from Tel Aviv, recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
And as our Washington correspondent Giles Gibson reports, the move has been brought forward sharply:
