SpaceX launches world's most powerful rocket

Space X has successfully launched the world's most powerful rocket.

The Falcon Heavy's 27 engines propelled a cherry red Tesla sports car into space, reaching speeds more than eleven-thousand kilometers-per-hour.

It was a test launch for the rocket which it's hoped will eventually be able to carry much heavier payloads into orbit than is currently possible, and eventually send astronauts to the Moon and Mars.

Reporter Steve Mort in Cape Canaveral says the blast off made for a spectacular show along Florida's Atlantic coast.
