Minnie Driver steps down as Oxfam ambassador amid scandal

British actress Minnie Driver has stepped down from her role as celebrity ambassador for Oxfam amid claims the charity concealed findings of wrongdoing by its staff while delivering aid to Haiti in 2011.

The British charity is accused of covering up claims that Oxfam staff in Haiti and elsewhere paid vulnerable people for sex.   Oxfam has said it is grateful to Minnie Driver for her work and is committed to learning from its mistakes.

The charity which delivers aid around the world and receives large payments from the UK government will be questioned by MPs in parliament next week. The Charity Commission has launched an inquiry.
