Germany's two leading parties have said they hope to finalize an agreement to form a coalition government on Sunday, more than four months since federal elections.
Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives have governed together in a so-called 'grand coalition' with the Social Democrats since twenty thirteen, but both have lost ground to smaller parties in recent years.
